Redevelopment District Cleanup event.
District Committee volunteers share hot dogs and cleanup information with area residents.
Maricopa, Ariz. (March 8, 2010) - Volunteers, dumpsters, and cleanup activities are now occurring within the Redevelopment District Area courtesy of a grant from the Gila River Indian Community and participation of the City of Maricopa.
Starting February 20, cleanup activities will run through March 13. Redevelopment District property owners, residents and businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the free resources and services being offered and facilitated by your Redevelopment District Citizens’ Advisory Committee. These include curb pickup of bulk trash as well as recyclable items, area cleanup provided by the grant such as landscaping in target areas and later even surface material improvements in alleyways.
PROGRESS TO DATE:
Over 550 tires have been collected, three area community outreach events (like the one pictured above) held, and twelve large dumpsters of trash filled. Many thanks to the numerous volunteers taking part in this initiative, and the Gila River Indian Community for making it possible.
