In a second cleanup grant award from the Gila River Indian Community, efforts caused the cleanup of a significant number of tires in the area - over 10,000 in total. In addition, the creation of a Design Guidelines Manual to clearly define the future look and feel of the development of the Heritage District was completed with City Council adoption. Following a public input process and review and approval by the City Council on June 7, 2011, these guidelines are now available for download.

District Committee volunteers share hot dogs and cleanup information with area residents.
In the Spring of 2010, volunteers, dumpsters, and cleanup activities occurred within the Redevelopment District Area courtesy of a grant from the Gila River Indian Community and participation of the City of Maricopa. The impact was significant - during the three weeks of bulk garbage cleanup, the following amounts of trash were removed from the locations listed:
44414 W. Maricopa Ave: 61.83 tons; 19916 N Condrey Ave: 20.34 tons; Roosevelt and Lexington: 52.17 tons
To complete this cleanup, 159 volunteer hours were generated, and over 25 residents participated directly in efforts. In addition to cleanup projects, blighted structures were removed and a resident home was repainted to improve the look of the property as well as owner and community pride.
