Redevelopment District Plan

Citizens Advisory Committee accepting applications.


Maricopa, Ariz. (July 21, 2009) – This Committee will be tasked with items like monitoring progress and providing an annual report to Council, suggesting plan amendments, and developing a logo for the RDA to be used on associated projects to raise awareness. They will have the opportunity to champion and guide events in the area such as periodic cleanups, painting parties, or gateway art contests and could pick projects to work on that excite them such as developing a Railroad Heritage Park and Visitor Center. The Committee will be comprised as follows:

City Council adopts Redevelopment District Area Plan.


Maricopa, Ariz. (July 8, 2009) – On July 7, the City Council approved and adopted the final Redevelopment District Area Plan, the conclusion to a year-long process inv

olving extensive public input. View the Plan as adopted by City Council on July 7, 2009. As a first step in responding to recommendations in the Plan, on July 21 Council will consider the creation of a Citizens' Advisory Committee for the Redevelopment Area.

Continuance of Public Hearing and Council consideration of Plan adoption.


Maricopa, Ariz. (June 18, 2009) – The Public Hearing scheduled for June 2, 2009, in accordance with State Statute guidelines, has been continued to the July 7, 2009 Council meeting. At that meeting, Council is also scheduled to consider adoption of the Redevelopment Plan. The Public Hearing was continued and the Plan adoption tabled to allow members of the Ak-Chin Indian Community additional time to provide comments and input on the Plan. Comments have been received and reviewed and will be presented in conjunction with the final Draft Plan.
